Well, I was just brooding a bit and this just came out of the blue. Skeletal Power Rangers. No doubt I'm not the first person the think of skeletal Power Rangers, or pirate Power Rangers, but hey I wanted to make my own so bite me. To be honest, I think a Super Sentai series featuring skeletal rangers would be best suited as a pirate-themed show that takes place in 1732 A.D., a show with lots of swashbuckling action, that would be pretty bad-ass don't you think^-^?

The story? Well, after obtaining an ancient cursed treasure, five young swashbuckling buckeneers get betrayed by their greedy Captain who set them to take the fall at the hands of the Spanish Navy. But no sooner had they met their end at the gallohs they suddenly found that they were brought back from the afterlife by a mysterious voodoo priestest who made them a deal, if they can return that very cursed treasure to it's original resting place then she will fully restore them to life. But as the dastardly captain who betrayed them has associated himself with a powerful other-worldly demon king named Cervantes, these young scallywags were gifted with powers of the sea goddess Calypso, the very power to become the Skull Rangers.

At first, they can transform from their "Mortal Forms" into hybrid "Ghoul Forms", a state of being between living and dead that gives them increased sub-human strength and limitless stamina. But when that is not enough, they can revert from their Ghoul Forms to their Ranger Forms, rendering them complete undead. In their Ranger Forms, they are basically comprised of ghostly dark-energy and bones. They are subjectable to actual dismemberment of their bone-like bodies...only to instantly rearange themselves back together, any part of them that is seperated from a Ranger's body can also move and attack on it's own. All of the Rangers can call upon the lost souls of the dead to aid them in battle, giving them their combined force to increase each Ranger's combat capabilities drastically.

The Red SkullRanger is fueled by Calypso's Courage and wields the Power Dual Scimitars (one of the Scimitars has a larger ionizer blade, while the other smaller ionizer bladed Scimitar has a built-in magnum in it's hilt which can fire ridiculously powerful armor-piercing rounds). He commands the powerful Red DrillLobster Zord which can tunnel through any solid rock-like matter as well as solid steel.

The Blue SkullRanger is fueled by Calypso's Sorrow and wields the Power Hookchain (a gauntlet style apparatus baring a razor-edge grappler claw equipped with a hundred foot chain used for the weapon's grappler hook function). She commands the fierce Blue StealthShark which is equipped with a cloaking device that renders it invisible.

The Green SkullRanger is fueled by Calypso's Rage and wields the Power Shield (it's virtually indestructable surface can repel just about anything and the edge is fited with a powerful ionizer blade, the shield itself can be tossed like a boomerang-style projectile weapon). He commands the tenacious Green ShellTurtle which is more or less a small mobile fortress able to house heavy artillery and weaponry.

The Pink SkullRanger is fueled by Calypso's Passion and wields the Power Rapier (it's ionizer blade can extend to a maximum of a hundred feet instantly). She commands the fast Pink RamDolphine which can go at super sonic speed and is equipped with a ballistic force ramming nose that can crush ten tons upon impact.

The Yellwo SkullRanger is fueled by Calypso's Wisdom and wields the Power Scepter (the jewel fitted in the Scepter is a powerful rune crystal that allows the user to cast all manner of instant spells to assist the team at any time). He commands the Yellow LightSeahorse which is equipped with a powerful laser cannon that can pierce even darkness itself.

The Jolly Roger SkullRanger, the lost soul of a legendary sea-faring captain brought back from the dead to further aid the five SkullRangers, he is fueled by Calypso's Vanity and wields the Power Masamune as well as his own Power MantaGlider (a glider that can travel across water as well as soar through the air, equipped with additional artilery and gadgetry such as his own Jolly Roger Grenades). He commands the massive and formitable Jolly Roger MantaRay Zord, a powerful attack vehicle that can unleash hell both in the sea and in the air.

Now that I think about it, there would be a few enemy clans. One is Cervantes's Crew, a villainous lot of pirates who got their hands on hordes of cursed artifacts and arcane magic that they use to create freakish apparitions and vile monsters and their reptilian Slitheringlings, they are the primary antagonists as the SkullRangers actually seek revenge against the second in command Captain Nathanal Hook and prior to their deal with the priestest must reclaim the very cursed treasure that gives the commander Cervantes his evil power.

Then there's the Spanish Inquisition, the commanding force of the Spanish Navy and employer of ancient crystals and some rather advance mechanical technology (literally made of gears and clockwork respectfully^-^) to create fierce weaponized atomitons and their man-sized Tin Soldiers. The Inquisition is not only after the SkullRangers but also Cervantes' Crew, they will not rest until they have wiped out every last pirate on the seven seas.

There would also be several bounty hunters who are seeking the claim the bounty placed on the SkullRangers' heads, most of them freakish monsters themselves^-^.
